  • The proofreading stage is the final step of the editorial process – by now you should have worked with your beta reader(s) and/or copyeditor(s) to make sure your manuscript makes sense and is consistent. Now, it is my job to do the final check to make sure everything is perfect before it is in your reader’s hands.

    My proofreading service checks:

    • Spelling, grammar, and punctuation mishaps

    • Inconsistent capitalisations and hyphenations

    • Misplaced/repeated text

    • Formatting and typesetting issues

    • Whether the appropriate style guide has been implemented

    I am trained in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Reader/PDF and will do anything I can to accommodate your needs.

    I welcome pre-existing style sheets from the author/publisher, however if you require one from me, please do let me know.

    Price: £0.05p per word

  • A beta reader is someone who reads through an early draft or manuscript and provides feedback directly to the author about what can be improved.

     Beta readers are typically the first step in the editorial process as a beta reader partnership allows you, the author, to be made aware of plot holes, pacing issues, inconsistencies, and character issues whilst still writing.

    Whilst also pointing out improvements, it is my duty as a beta reader to also signal what works well in the manuscript to help you understand the strengths/selling points.

    I am not a trained copyeditor; therefore I cannot advise you on what to keep and what to change, however my feedback will be honest and constructive from a genral reader’s perspective.

    I accept all forms of manuscripts, ranging from fanfictions to fiction novels, so if you are interested in acquiring a beta reader then please do get in touch.

    I encourage authors to come to me with a specific set of questions they would like to be answered, however if you are looking for a general beta read then that’s fine.

    Price: Free (There will be an option to give a tip after you have received your feedback, but it is non-compulsory)

  • I am now accepting Advanced Reader Copies (both physical and digital) in exchange for an honest review on your preferred platform.

    As an avid reader, I want to help make your book’s publication process easier – and a fair and thoughtful review will help promote your new book.

    Preferred genres: Romance, Fantasy, Dystopian/Apocalyptic, YA

    (but I am open to anything as long as the tropes/triggers are disclosed!)
