Welcome!

My name is Lauren Ternent, and I own The Editorial Geordie. As you guessed from the name, I am from Newcastle and love everything from reading to football to music.

After recovering from a 4-5 year reading slump, I looked into what makes the publishing industry work out of sheer curiosity, and then decided I wanted to be a part of it! During my last year of University, I decided I wanted to become a proofreader after voluntarily becoming one to aid my friends who were creative writing students.

After graduating, I joined the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, where I am now a full-time member. I have also undergone the necessary training which allows me to be a full-time freelance proofreader.
